Metaphors and meaning
What does each metaphor mean ?
Metaphors are used to describe things or actions through images.Here are some common metaphors that you could easily hear in conversation or on television or on social media.
An interactive quiz that you can fill in on your computer.
Find the correct missing word for each of these proverbs and sayings, and find the appropriate meaning for each from the list below.
For example, for the first proverb, you could choose tea as an answer... but that would be wrong, of course.
Firstly, here are the meanings for which you must find the right metaphor:

5. He’s really happy and excited.
